Man smashes gun case in North Carolina Walmart and steals rifle, then hides in bathroom

At a Walmart store in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, 44-year old Ricky Edward Frazier smashed a gun display case and pulled out a rifle.  He then fled to the bathroom until police pulled him out and arrested him.

This is at least the fifth incident of guns stolen from displays in Walmart stores so far in 2013 that I know of.

Police said 44-year-old Ricky Edward Frazier, of 1705 Shamrock Ln., went into the sporting goods section of Walmart, smashed a glass gun case and took out a rifle. Frazier ran into the men's restroom with the rifle at the back of the store and refused to leave. 

Officers were eventually able to take Frazier into custody. No one was injured in the incident. 

Frazier is charged with larceny of a firearm, going armed to the terror of the public, and damage to property. He also faces charges for multiple outstanding warrants for driving violations.

Man steals Airsoft gun from Maine Walmart

A 27-year old man, Nick Tatu, stole an Airsoft pellet gun from a Walmart in Auburn, Maine.  Police were called, and a pursuit occurred in neighboring woods before Tatu was captured and the gun recovered.

The weapon was an Airsoft pistol, police said, taken by a suspect last seen headed toward the back of the store at about 5:15 p.m. 

Several officers searched the area behind Walmart and neighboring stores but there was no sign of the suspect. 

Witnesses reported seeing the man run into the woods in the area between Walmart and BJ's Wholesale Club. Police soon followed, entering the heavily wooded area between Park Avenue and Summer Street. 

Auburn police Sgt. Laurie Woodhead said the officers soon came upon some of the store packaging that had contained the gun. That led them to an area where they found Nick Tatu, 27, still in possession of the Airsoft pistol. 

Auburn police Officer Justin Richardson caught up with Tatu and arrested him, police said, but the suspect didn't go willingly. 

Tatu was taken out of the woods and charged with theft, criminal threatening, criminal trespass, refusing to submit to arrest and violating conditions of release stemming from an earlier arrest. He remained at the Androscoggin County Jail later Wednesday.

Deadly shooting in Louisiana Walmart parking lot

A man was shot in a conflict that erupted in the parking lot of a Walmart in Port Allen, Louisiana.  The shooter fled.  The victim, 37-year old Leon Banks, was put in a car by a friend, who then tried to drive him to the hospital, but police pulled him over.  First aid was administered, but the man died.

Around 9:00 p.m. Wednesday night, a Plaquemine man was fatally shot outside of a Wal-Mart near Port Allen. The victim, Leon Banks, 37, was driven away from the scene by another man, Alfred Watts III. The two fled the parking lot in a white BMW, trying to get Banks to a hospital in Baton Rouge. 

West Baton Rouge Sheriff's Deputies pursued the car and finally stopped it near a Florida Boulevard CATS station. Upon finding Banks injured in the car, they called an ambulance to take him to an area hospital where he later died. They also arrested Watts for possession of marijuana in the car. 

WBR Sheriff's Deputies are looking for the suspected shooter, whose name has not been released.

Three men armed with gun steal stereo equipment from Virginia Walmart

Occurred April 10, 2013.


Three men entered a Walmart in Suffolk, Virginia, put stereo equipment in a cart, and made off with it.  They were armed with at least one handgun.

On April 10 at approximately 3:10 a.m. the suspects were seen on surveillance video entering the store and then placing stereo equipment in a shopping cart before fleeing the store. Police say they left in a white minivan, described as possibly a Dodge Caravan at approximately 3:23 a.m. 

One of the suspects was seen carrying a handgun as he fled the store. A third suspect was also believed to be involved, but no photos are available.

Man with gun robs North Carolina Walmart

A man, armed with a gun, robbed a Walmart in Gastonia, North Carolina.  He then fled.

The robbery occured around 9 p.m. Tuesday in Money Center of the Walmart on East Franklin Street. Police said the suspect walked into the store and put some items in a shopping cart before going to the Money Center. There, police said, he robbed the center’s clerk at gunpoint before running out of the store. 

No injuries were reported. 

Police described the suspect as a black male, 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, with long dread locks. He was wearing a blue hoodie, khaki shorts, a hat and sunglasses, police said.

Armed robbery attempt at gunpoint in Georgia Walmart parking lot

A woman was in a Walmart parking lot in Chattanooga, Tennessee, when 19-year old Robert Cody Martin came up and put a gun to her head, trying to rob her of her money and car keys.  The woman refused, and, luckily, Martin went away.

He was later captured, and has also been charged in another robbery and car theft.

 Investigators believe "Robert Martin" held a gun to woman in a Wal-Mart parking lot.     However, when she wouldn't give up her money or keys, he left.  

     Martin is also connected to a robbery at a Dollar General store and the theft of a vehicle.  

         He was arrested yesterday afternoon through cooperation between Dade County Sheriff's office and the Chattanooga Police Department. 

Ray Cross the Dade County Sheriff says. 

"Chattanooga officers apprehended the subject and now have him in custody in the Hamilton County jail, myself and one of the detectives interviewed him this morning and he gave a full confession to the attempted armed robbery in our county".

Man fires shotgun at truck in Ohio Walmart parking lot

A man fired a shotgun multiple times at a truck parked in the parking lot of a Walmart in an Ontario, Ohio.

Ontario police are searching for a man suspected of shooting a truck in the parking lot at Walmart on Lexington-Springmill Road.

Around 11 p.m., witnesses called 9-1-1 to report the incident.

Chief Rodney Smith pointed out where a large black truck had been shot at multiple times with a shotgun.

No one is yet in custody and no one was injured.
