Massachusetts couple purchase realistic-looking pellet gun at Walmart then rob the store with it

A couple, Molly K. McKeen, 25, and Cortez D. Palmer, 37, walked into a Walmart store in Oxford, Massachusetts, and purchased, among other things, a realistic-looking pellet gun.

Shortly after leaving the store, Palmer returned and used the gun to threaten a Walmart clerk, demanding money.  The couple then fled.  Many other stores were also robbed, possibly with the same pellet gun.

Molly K. McKeen, 25, of 6 Knox St., Worcester; and Cortez D. Palmer, 37, of 68 Merrick St., Worcester, allegedly entered the Walmart in Oxford on Nov. 8 and made several purchases, including a pellet gun, the affidavits on file in Central District Court said.

Surveillance footage obtained from the store shows Ms. McKeen using a debit/credit card to make the purchases. The two left the store, but Mr. Palmer returned with a black handgun, which authorities believe was the pellet gun just purchased, the records said.

Mr. Palmer is accused of approaching the guest services counter and telling the clerk to look down. He allegedly showed the clerk the handgun and demanded cash. The robbery netted $8,681, the affidavits said.

Ms. McKeen has been arraignedon a charge of unarmed robbery. Mr. Palmer faces several counts of unarmed robbery and one count of armed robbery in connection with a cluster of robberies in Worcester and other area towns. He also has been arraigned in Central District Court.

Worcester police said they linked six robberies to one or all of the suspects. Mr. Palmer allegedly robbed multiple supermarkets, a Walmart and one Dunkin' Donuts in the city from September to November.

Realistic-looking pellet guns have been used in numerous gun crimes at Walmart stores.

Despite this history, Walmart continues to sell many models of realistic-looking pellet, BB, and toy guns.

Robbers hide in Massachusetts Walmart still wielding gun

Three robbery suspects who had robbed a local Radio Shack of iPhones, still armed with their handgun, were on the run and ducked into a Walmart store in Lynn.  They were attempting to change clothes when they are arrested.

Authorities said the two men and one woman robbed a State Street Radio Shack with weapons and masks before fleeing the scene with about $10,000 worth of merchandise, including an ill-fated iPhone.

That device’s GPS was reportedly used to track the suspects to the Lynnway Walmart, where investigators identified them with surveillance footage. 

A handgun was reportedly recovered from one of the suspects. Officials have not yet released the names of those arrested, citing an ongoing investigation.

The three suspects, two from Lynn and another from Boston, face armed robbery charges.

The Wal-Mart was reportedly briefly evacuated during the incident.

Police chased the vehicle from the Lynnway to the Point of Pines exit in Revere but lost the suspect vehicle, Sheehan reported. One of the store employees, however, allegedly told police he/she had a GPS tracker on his/her phone, which police said they used to track the suspects as the car doubled back down the Lynnway to Walmart.

Police found the vehicle, which they learned Casimir had rented, and watched surveillance footage of the suspects coming into the store, grabbing clothes and running to the bathrooms, Sheehan said.

Police evacuated the Walmart and arrested the suspects. Officers searching the men’s bathroom also found a black revolver and discarded clothes that matched the clothes the suspects were wearing when seen on video entering the store, Sheehan said. Police recovered a box of unopened Apple products and the store employees’ cellphones (which had missed calls from Lynn Police Headquarters as officers had called the phones during the chase) in the car, Sheehan said.

Three armed robbers with gun arrested in Massachusetts Walmart

Two armed robbers used a gun to rob a Radio Shack, in Lynn, Massachusetts.  After they fled, police tracked a stolen cell phone to find them in the local Walmart, where they were captured, along with a getaway driver, and their gun was confiscated.

Officials told NewsCenter 5 that two men, one with a gun, stole $10,000 worth of electronics, including a clerk's iPhone, from a Radio Shack on State Street at 12:39 p.m. A female getaway car driver then took them to Walmart, where they all changed into clothes on display, according to police. 

Lynn police pursued the suspects and were able to track the stolen phone to the Walmart on the Lynnway. 

Police were able to identify the suspects on surveillance cameras and made the arrest inside the garden section at Walmart, where the suspects were "acting casual." A weapon was recovered, police said.

18-year old injured in shooting at Massachusetts Walmart over drugs

A marijuana purchase went bad between two groups of people in the Walmart parking lot in Avon, Massachusetts.  Shots were fired by both groups.  One of them, 18-year-old Keenan Hart of Brockton, was injured.  Three others were arrested.

Prosecutors said that 21-year-old Keeshawne Murphy and 18-year-old Keenan Hart of Brockton were originally driven to the Walmart by 20-year-old Ashley Weiner of Norton to buy some marijuana. 

The group met three others, and then Murphy allegedly got into a car driven by Joshua Pierre-Louis of Hyde Park. 

“According to Mr. Murphy, he reached for the gun, and the vehicle with Mr. Pierre-Louis and Mr. Valbrun (a fifth suspect still at large) started to speed away, causing Mr. Murphy to fall out of the vehicle. At this point, parties indicated that shots began to be fired,” said Eng.Prosecutor Danielle Eng says the deal went sour and Pierre-Louis then laid a gun on the console inside the car. 

Hart was grazed by a bullet and then driven by fellow suspects Ashley Weiner, 20, and Keshawne Murphy, 21, to a local hospital. 

Hart, Weiner and Murphy were later arrested at the hospital after a witness tailing them called 911. 

A couple hours after the shooting, Joshua Pierre-Louis of Hyde Park was arrested in Mattapan. 

Police are still looking for a fifth suspect, Jean Valbrun of Hyde Park. 

A second gun was later found stashed at a home in Randolph. 

The suspects were arraigned separately to avoid confrontation.

The Walmart store stayed open as the police investigated the scene and searched for the armed suspect.
