Former police officer pulls gun on Wisconsin Walmart employees while trying to steal TV

Occurred August 23, 2014.


A former police officer, Paul Garcheck, was caught trying to steal a television from a Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, Walmart store.  When store employees confronted him, he threatened them with a gun, then fled.

Garcheck was later arrested at his home.

Mount Pleasant police said Paul Garcheck, 41, tried tried to steal a television from the Walmart on Oakes Road just after 4 a.m. When workers confronted him, he pulled out a gun, police said.

Police tracked Garchek to a house in Racine, where they arrested him after a brief standoff.

Nobody was hurt.
